Acclaimed as one of the "wonders of spring", the Evesham Blossom Trail, a 50-mile, scenic route in Worcestershire, showcases spring fruit blossom (plums, cherries, apples) from mid-March to mid-May. Now in its 40th year, enjoy the two hour tour with a guide from the comfort of the executive coach. Another option is to take advantage of our trip to visit visit the delightful nearby town of Lechlade-on-Thames, with a thriving town centre and a good selection of shops, including many antique-dealers, and many wonderful places to eat and drink. The Church of St Lawrence, which dominates the market square, has beautiful stained glass windows and a landmark spire. In the churchyard, the poet Shelley was inspired to write A Summer Evening Churchyard – look out for the verse inscribed by the church entrance.

 BROUGHTON CASTLE & BANBURY - May 27th (Wed)

"a moated and fortified castle". In 1406, licence was granted for fortifications to be built around the manor house built of local hornton stone. These fortifications comprised of a gatehouse, moat and battlements for a curtain wall and still exist today to protect the ancestral family that still live in the castle. It’s become a popular film and photo location set,  notably used in Becoming Elisabeth (2023), The Crown (2019).

Although Banbury is not technically in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), it sits right on its edge of the countryside of the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. It's a historic market town, known for its own charm offering both lively town life and scenic landscapes.

Oxford is a beautiful city of stunning architecture, history and culture. It has been the seat of scholars for 800 years and houses Britain’s oldest university, botanical gardens, and pubs. Located in the heart of the city centre, primarily in Victoria Square and along New Street, it offers traditional German stalls, mulled wine, and festive treats. Other markets, like the Cathedral Square Craft Market, pop up in different spots, adding to the festive atmosphere.
